John CAGE - In a Landscape
John Cage music is linked with my 20's and the years spent with the great Gerard Fremy with whome i learnt so much.
At this time, I was a Scriabin music lover. It was one of the reason I had chosen to work with Gerard Frémy (as he was one of Heinrich Nehaus assistants). But Gerard felt that I was different from the usual "conservatory" students, and .... he introduced me to John Cage music as ... he worked with him ! He told me what to do with this music, what Cage told him .... It was such amazing moments !
I hope you will like those 2 Zen pieces : In a Landscape & Dream

And all this, played by Nicolas Horvath, an exegete who recently played all of Glass's piano works in a 12-hour concert. Oh yes, I want it. (RéjeanBeaucage)

Nicolas Horvath knows how to conjure up all poetry from the technically demanding pieces like no other, as well as to weave percussive repetitions with melodic finesse into a fine sound network. The recorded piano pieces are music as if from another star in its largely simple beauty, exotic tint and transparent purity. Great. The sonic quality and production are without fault and reproach. Performances are fine and demonstrate as always Horvath’s intense, almost romantic expressive choices for the music. Glass’s music benefits from this approach very nicely. (Rob Haskins)

Nicolas Horvath continues his excellent series of Glass piano music. It demonstrates Horvath's strengths in his ability to capture Glass' stretching of time, and his sensitivity to prolonged moods. Fascinating.
Inactuelles
Inspired from one end to the other, Nicolas Horvath makes us discover for our greatest happiness another Philip Glass, more human, where technology is only a path to the great enigmatic, mythical and magical sources of life.(Dionys)
Nicolas Horvath performs all this with the same precision as in the previous volume, and the same indifference to the "canons" of minimalism, which rejects the old vision, very mechanical, which dominated in the interpretation of this music. It's like Liszt, sometimes...

Nicolas Horvath perfectly recreates the atmosphere of this music. A unique experience at the edge of the spiritual where departure never presupposes the end. (Stephane Godet)
Scene Magazine
As performed by acclaimed pianist Nicholas Horvath, these works are evocative, cinematic and filled with a pathos that defies easy definition. …Rather than simply reproducing incidental music, Horvath’s naked arrangement shines a light on the score, allowing listeners to appreciate the subtle aspects of the work, both on an emotional and technical level. (Chris Morgan)
The dedicated rehangs Horvath both the microcosmic, repetitive throng and the meditative lyer, large-scale magic that flows into new, wide worlds. A must-have for all Philip Glass lovers! (Björn Gustavsson)

Mr Horvath continues this fascinating survey of Glass’s piano music with performances that satisfy me completely (Rob Haskins)

Philip Glass cuts through the notes of his compositions as a reminder of our numb senses. Bells, beats, sound rosaries parade in clean melodies that Nicolas Horvath manages to capture with astonishing acuity. A veritable haiku sound, the purity paradoxically gives rise to a profusion of images and sensations almost corporeal, acoustic mantra of modern times. (Philippe-Emmanuel Krautter)
Magazin Klassik-8
Horvath creates with a fine sense of gripping arcs of tension. From reduction and supposed statics, mood images emerge here, which reveal with great sensitivity and seriousness a whole spectrum of colourings – and a music that wants to be experienced by its willing listeners and gives them the freedom to to linger on their own. (Jasemin Khaleli)
This would make an important addition to any Glass collection (Nathan Faro)

In his latest contribution to the series, Horvath presents the spectacularly virtuoso and at the same time contemplative arrangement of Glass's famous second concerto for solo piano. Fascinating!

Morteza SHIRKOOHI - Divine Thoughts
Nicolas Horvath takes us into the mystical musical universe of Morteza Shirkoohi, Iranian composer of minimalist classical music.
The "sacred thoughts" gathered here come out less from program music than a musical program, in that they are not descriptive but seem to offer a kind of making of explaining the essence of the composition. The program is not to tell travel memories; The program is to make the memory of the emotion it preserves so that a work woven in this braiding admits. Thus, leaving the sound sing, the interpreter mixes his memory with his future ...
